Weekly Market Update #1

Pantons has now been trading for over 2 years and active in the market as a standalone brand for almost one. In that time we have seen the new Labour Government sweep into power on the back of their First Steps For Change Manifesto with the #1 Step being 'Deliver Economic Stability.'

Your view on this is probably similar to mine. However, the area of business I focus on is defying the gloom and (apart from a six week period around last year's budget - surprisingly not the same this year...) enquiries for small and medium sized commercial premises have generally remained steady over the last year.

With this in mind, I intend to send out a weekly message providing an update on hot business space requirements from businesses in the Northern Home Counties. I will also give a brief outline of enquiry levels and sentiment (from my perspective at least).

Latest requirements:

  • 3 - 4,000 sq.ft storage premises within 8 miles of Potters Bar for high end car sales (visits by appointment only and no repair/mechanical work).

  • C1,500 sq.ft workshop within 15 miles of Watford for steel gate & railing manufacture.

  • 2,000 sq.ft store/workshop for small furniture repairer - between Hemel & Luton. A low impact use.

Last weeks enquiry rates and sentiment level:

  • Average of 3 enquiries a day - standard for the year.

  • Sentiment level - reasonable. Good considering the budget tomorrow!

Recent letting/re-letting of note:

  • Food supplier to the Asian restaurant market - seeking larger premises due to expansion.

If you have any space that you think could suit the requirements above, or just to find out more, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
